Our story is really about you

Throughout my career I have watched many businesses and organisations in the Highlands grow through collaboration. Sadly however I’ve also witnessed many businesses struggle on their own and seen organisations “stuck in a silo”, operating in isolation.

We have so many talented business owners and professionals in the North of Scotland, but we don’t always shout about what we can do and miss out on so many fantastic opportunities to realise our true business potential.

That’s when it struck me “realisation through collaboration”.

Helping every business realise their full potential through collaborating with local, top-quality business professionals, each a specialist in their field.

Many consultants, as part of a bigger organisation, will travel to the area through contracts handed to them, to provide a service to business owners in our region. Which got me thinking…

Why can’t these consultants be sourced locally, offer a more convenient service, reduce costs for the business and support the local business community?

A simple solution was to take a group of professional service businesses and have them under one umbrella organisation and shout about how great a service we can all provide, locally.

Of course, when COVID hit, there was a great deal of panic and concern about how many affected businesses would survive. We had the same challenge. Then one evening, at 3.33am I was pacing the floor wondering how I could turn around our newly started business without any financial support.

“You need to ACT NOW Christie!”, that’s what I was telling myself, so I sat down and did the following exercise.

“Genius!” That’s what got me going! ACT NOW – breaking all these barriers down from a SWOT analysis into something that we can all relate to when we are up against it; such a simple way of looking at where our business was at that time.

Now we use this model for businesses looking to grow, contract, change strategy or sell on. It gets the business owner’s mind working in such an easy format, because taking the time to work together and plan next steps is absolutely crucial to realising your business goals.

And so ACT NOW and Christie Consultants Scotland was born. Realisation through Collaboration
